P and P. Phineas and Perb. Or Pherb?
Haha
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.”
An introduction that surely captures
the interest of the reader. This classic book authored by Jane Austen deals
about morals and manners.
I, personally, very much admire the
heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, for her maturity in dealing with things and
circumstances, especially with marriage (for marriage is somewhat the main goal
of the book’s characters
(っ◕‿◕)っ). Austen portrayed her character as a strong-willed twenty-year-old woman, who despised the story’s romantic hero, Fitzwilliam Darcy, due to his mistaken pride. Thus the title, Pride and Prejudice.

They give a great deal on a person’s
amiableness, civility, behaviour, and even riches, etc.
Elopement, on the part of the family
that was immediately involved, was such a disgrace to the neighbours as well as
abroad.
The book is very rich in vocabulary
(you may want to take a dictionary with you while reading). Hahaha. And since
it was written in old English (I have read a complete and unabridged one), if
you are not used in reading such books with this language, it may take a while
for you to immediately grasp the sentences, or it may bore you. :D I have said
this for I have heard many people say they couldn't understand it. And to be
honest, that was my struggle also on the first chapter, but I got used to it.
Literature is quite interesting, isn’t it?

Here is one thing that I noticed in
this book: They didn’t have a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. As long as a
man and woman agrees, and also all the family and the others do the same, they
immediately arranged a marriage ceremony. haha
A must-read book. Very highly
recommended! This book is epic! One of the best books I have read so far. The
other one, by the way, is The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
P.S. Do not get so much crazy about Mr
Darcy. Haha. Because I am.
